Guy Ritchie in for comic-book adaptation Sgt Rock?

*Director Guy Ritchie looks set to resurrect his plans to make comic
book adaptation _Sgt Rock_.*

Created by DC Comics in 1959, Sgt Rock is a World War II officer whose
handiwork with a submachine gun is unmatchable, and who possesses
nearly superhuman strength and endurance.

Ritchie was attached to direct a _Rock_ movie a few years back, but
was eventually replaced by _Water For Elephants_ director Francis
Lawrence.

Now Warner Bros are keen to hand the project back to Ritchie. He's
currently overseeing the latest draft of the film, which apparently
sees Sgt Rock going up against his traditional foes - Nazis.

Rock isn’t the only comic Ritchie’s been linked to,
though. He was planning to make a movie based on the popular DC
character Lobo before _Holmes 2_ snatched him up.

It seems the director’s keen to get in on the comic book movie
action, and of the two, _Sgt Rock_ seems more suited to his filmmaking
style.
